Sports

In the past few years students of our college has taken part in various events and has brought prizes for the college. Colleges like ours (Grant in Aid) take part in the events organized by University, State Government at district level or at State Level with limited resources. But from the year 2013-14 our resources increased so as the inspiration of the students to do something. There is a sports fee which is imposed on the students but it is negligible for overall development. At present our college students take part in sports and games in four stages -

1. At College level (Annual Sports)
2. At University level (Organized by University)
3. At District level (Sponsored by State Government of West Bengal)
4. At State level (Organized by D.P.I.)

Those who rank in the college level are sent to the University and District level and those who rank among the District level competition are chosen for taking part in the State level held at Sports Authority of India (SAI), Salt Lake, Kolkata. Our students basically take part in athletics, cricket, volley ball, badminton and football. Our sports committee organizes the college sports and then the students who secured 1^st and 2^nd position in athletics events are sent to perform with other colleges both at the University level and District level sponsored by the State Government. Among those students who performed well and secure 1^st position are sent to the State level competition organized by the Education Directorate, Govt. Of West Bengal. Our students are also benefitted by these co curricular activities in sports as they have opportunity to express their talent. Alongside with the outdoor games we have provisions for indoor games like table tennis, chess and carom. Inside the college campus on a few available stretches of land our students play Badminton and Volley Ball.
